Descripción
An Islamic Republic of Iran Army AH-1J Cobra attack helicopter crashed into a fruit and vegetable market in Dorcheh, Isfahan province, during a routine training mission on the morning of February 24. The crash, attributed to a likely technical fault, triggered a massive fire at the market. Both pilots — Colonel Hamed Sarvazad and Major Mojtaba Kiani — were killed, along with two civilian merchants. The Army Aviation Training Centre at a nearby airbase confirmed the incident and launched an investigation. Iran operates a fleet of aging AH-1J Cobras acquired before the 1979 revolution.
