Portugal KC-390 Fleet Update

On June 16, 2025, at the Paris Air Show, the Portuguese Ministry of National Defence signed a contract with Embraer for a sixth KC-390 Millennium multi-mission airlifter. This acquisition expands the Portuguese Air Force (FAP) fleet beyond its initial 2019 order of five units. The sixth aircraft is slated for delivery in 2029, following the completion of the original order by March 2027. The agreement also includes purchase options for ten additional aircraft to support NATO and European allies through government-to-government sales, securing production slots that are otherwise unavailable until 2035.
