Description
Anqing Tianzhushan Airport is a dual-use military and civil airport located 6.3 kilometers north of Anqing in Anhui Province, China. Initially a military airport, it received approval from the national government in 1991 for conversion to a dual-use facility. Following an investment of 28 million yuan, the airport commenced civil flight operations in December 1993. In 2005, HNA Group, the parent company of Hainan Airlines, assumed management of the airport and renamed it Anqing Tianzhushan Airport. Due to limitations of the current dual-use facility, a new dedicated civil airport is in the planning stages.
