Description
Lucknow Air Force Station, also known as Bakshi Ka Talab Air Force Station, is a military airport located at Bakshi Ka Talab on the outskirts of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is owned by the Indian Air Force and operated by its Central Air Command. The air base was founded by the British in the lead-up to World War II as a small airstrip and was expanded after Indian independence. Its primary purpose is to facilitate quick landing and take-off in emergency situations and to support a small fighter unit ready for combat. The station is also responsible for navigating air traffic. The sole user of this airport is the Indian Air Force, with No. 35 Squadron IAF (Rapiers) stationed there as an EW and Air superiority unit.
