Description
Bhuj Rudra Mata Air Force Station is an Indian Air Force Station located in Bhuj, Gujarat, India. It shares its runway with Bhuj Airport and operates under the South Western Air Command. The base sustained extensive damage during the 2001 Gujarat earthquake on January 26, 2001, which resulted in the deaths of 30 air warriors and 68 family members of IAF personnel. Following the earthquake, the airbase became a central point for coordinating relief efforts, managing approximately 1,300 landings by relief aircraft from various agencies between January and March 2001. The base has since been fully reconstructed, with new residential structures, amenities such as playgrounds, parks, an auditorium, a swimming pool, a shopping complex, and an Air Force School. The 27 Wing is stationed at Bhuj Air Force Station.
