Description
Boufarik Air Base is an Algerian Air Force installation located near Boufarik, Algeria. During the Second World War, Charles de Gaulle arrived at the site on 3 May 1943 from Gibraltar and remained based in Algeria until mid-1944.
The base is operated by the Algerian Air Force and houses the service's air transport fleet. It functions as the primary station for units operating Ilyushin Il-76 transport aircraft.
