Description
Doshan Tappeh Air Base is located in eastern Tehran, Iran, on Piroozi Street. The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) owns and operates the facility, which is situated within the central IRIAF base complex. Established as an airfield in the 1930s, the site functioned as a location for one of Iran's early aircraft factories.
The base is currently closed to standard flight traffic due to its proximity to residential areas and urban development. While the facility previously functioned as a flight training base for the IRIAF and supported glider and kite operations, these activities have ceased.
Infrastructure at the site includes runways maintained in operational condition for emergency flight use during natural disasters or other contingencies in eastern Tehran. The facility also houses IRIAF administrative offices.
