Isfahan Shahid Beheshti International Airport is located 18.5 kilometers east of Isfahan, Iran, within a 1,315-hectare site. It is the oldest airport in the country. While the original terminal was located in Soffeh, the current facility began operations in 1982 to handle passenger flights and pilot training. Administratively, the airport is situated in the Qahab-e Shomali Rural District of Isfahan County.
The facility is owned by the Government of Iran and is operated by the Iran Airports Company and the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force. Khatami Air Base is located adjacent to the airport. This military installation was established in the 1970s specifically to accommodate the Iranian fleet of F-14 Tomcat aircraft.
Infrastructure includes two terminals, with separate facilities designated for domestic and international operations. The airport is a hub for Iran Aseman Airlines and a focus city for Asa Jet, Iran Air, Karun Airlines, Pars Air, and Qeshm Air. Additional operators at the site include various regional and international carriers such as Flydubai, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines.
