Description
Jyväskylä–Tikkakoski Air Base is situated in Tikkakoski, approximately 20 kilometers north of Jyväskylä, Finland. The facility was established as an air force base in 1939. Commercial aviation began at the site in 1945.
The base is operated by Finavia and serves as a station for Air Force Academy operations. The Air Force Academy maintains its main campus five kilometers from the airfield.
Infrastructure includes a passenger terminal renovated in 2004. The Aviation Museum of Central Finland is located in the vicinity of the base.
