Description

Luzhou Lantian Airport was a dual-use military and public airport located in Luzhou, Sichuan, China. Constructed in 1945, it initially supported an air route between China and India operated by the US Air Force during World War II. Civilian services were suspended in the 1960s. Subsequently, the airport was utilized by the People's Liberation Army Air Force for training purposes. Significant renovations and expansions were finalized in January 2001. Due to operational limitations, a new facility, Luzhou Yunlong Airport, was built. All flights were transferred to the new airport upon its opening on September 10, 2018, leading to the closure of Luzhou Lantian Airport.
