Description
Mashhad International Airport is located in Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. It functions as a joint-use installation, serving as both a civilian airport and a military airbase. The military portion of the facility is designated as the 14th Tactical Air Base.
The airbase is operated by the Government of Iran and hosts units from several branches of the Iranian armed forces. These include the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Aviation, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Iranian Police Aviation and the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force also maintain operations at the site.
Infrastructure consists of three terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flights, Terminal 2 for international flights, and Terminal 3 for Hajj flights. The facility houses an aircraft overhaul center and provides support for military assets, including aerial refueling aircraft. The site manages a high volume of aircraft movements, supporting military aviation roles alongside civilian passenger and cargo transport.
