Description
Oghab 44, also known as Eagle 44, is an Iranian underground airbase operated by the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force. Established in 2023, the facility was unveiled in February of that year. The designation refers to the forty-fourth anniversary of the 1979 revolution.
The facility serves as a tactical airbase for the army's air force, accommodating fighters, bombers, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force utilizes the site as a hybrid base for both crewed aircraft and UAV operations.
The infrastructure is situated underground and includes aircraft hangars, an alert area, a command post, and repair and maintenance facilities. The base contains fuel storage, navigation equipment, and airport systems. Operational capabilities include the protection of aircraft in hardened locations and the integration of electronic warfare systems and munitions. Supported weaponry includes Yasin, Qaem, and Asef missiles for long-range and strategic strikes.
