Description
PAF Base Nawabshah, also identified as Benazirabad Airport, is located three kilometers southwest of Nawabshah in the Sindh province of Pakistan. Established during the British Raj, the facility underwent expansion in the early 1960s. Infrastructure developments continued with the completion of a terminal building in October 1992 and the commissioning of an additional apron and runway in 1998.
The base is a joint-use installation operated by the Pakistan Airports Authority and the Pakistan Air Force. It serves as a diversion airfield for Jinnah International Airport. The facility covers 772 acres. Operational capabilities are limited to non-instrument landing system approaches.
