Shanghai Pudong International Airport is a major international airport serving Shanghai, China. Construction of its first phase began in October 1997, and it officially opened on October 1, 1999. The airport is operated by Shanghai Airport Authority. It primarily handles international flights and a smaller number of domestic flights. The airport functions as a hub for China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Air China, China Southern Airlines, Juneyao Air, Spring Airlines, FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
