Description
Sedes Air Base is located 15 kilometers east of Thessaloniki, Greece, and three kilometers northeast of Thessaloniki International Airport. Established during the Balkan Wars, the facility is operated by the Hellenic Air Force.
The base hosts the 350th Guided Missile Wing. Stationed units include the Guided Missile Maintenance Squadron, the Guided Missile Training Squadron, and the 23rd Guided Missile Squadron. The 23rd Guided Missile Squadron operates batteries of the MIM-104 Patriot PAC-3 surface-to-air missile system. Infrastructure at the installation also includes an aviation museum displaying decommissioned aircraft types.
