Description
Uthman Air Base is an Egyptian Air Force installation situated north of the Siwa Oasis in the Matrouh Governorate. The facility is owned by the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and operated by the Egyptian Air Force.
The base hosts several units with diverse operational roles. It is the station for 26 Squadron, a component of the 102 Tactical Air Wing under the 149 Air Division, which operates Air Tractor AT-802 aircraft. The base also houses 22 Squadron of the 702 Air Wing, 129 Air Division, operating CAIG Wing Loong II unmanned aerial vehicles. Additionally, Uthman Air Base supports a detachment from 13 Squadron, part of the 547 Air Wing within the 119 Air Division, operating Mil Mi-17V-5 helicopters.
