Description

Utti is located in Kouvola, Finland, within the former municipality of Valkeala. The area was the site of the 1789 Battle of Utti between Swedish and Russian forces. General Carl Gustaf Mannerheim established the first Finnish Air Force base at the location in 1918.

The Finnish Defence Forces operate the Utti Jaeger Regiment, which was formed in 1997. The base serves as a helicopter installation and functions as a training ground for special forces and military police. Infrastructure at the site supports military helicopter operations and specialized unit training.
