Russia Tapir Fleet Update

Destroyed on 24 March 2022 by a Ukrainian OTR-21 Tochka-U ballistic missile strike while docked at Berdiansk port in the Sea of Azov. The ship was laden with ammunition, causing massive secondary explosions that also damaged two nearby Ropucha-class landing ships Tsezar Kunikov and Novocherkassk. Satellite imagery confirmed the vessel burned and partially submerged at the pier. Commissioned in 1966 as a Project 1171 large landing ship, Saratov was the oldest active warship in the Black Sea Fleet at the time of her loss.
