Project 09852 special-purpose nuclear submarine delivered to the Russian Navy on 8 July 2022 at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk. Built on a heavily modified Oscar II hull, Belgorod is the world's longest submarine at 184 metres and is designed to carry up to six Poseidon nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed autonomous torpedoes. The submarine can also deploy deep-sea research vehicles and special operations mini-submarines. Originally laid down in 1992 as an Oscar II-class SSGN, construction was suspended and the hull was later converted to its current special-purpose configuration.
