Russia Project 22160 Fleet Update

Project 22160 patrol ship damaged on 11 October 2023 after striking a mine while entering Sevastopol Bay. The Ukrainian Navy reported the vessel hit a second mine on 13 October while attempting to leave for repairs. Pavel Derzhavin, commissioned in 2020, is a 1,800-tonne modular patrol ship armed with a 57mm gun. The mining incidents highlighted the growing threat posed by Ukrainian mine-laying operations around Crimean ports, further restricting the Black Sea Fleet's freedom of movement in its own home waters.
