Description
Ropucha-class large landing ship sunk on 14 February 2024 by Ukrainian MAGURA V5 uncrewed surface vessels off the coast of Alupka, southern Crimea. Ukrainian military intelligence released video showing drones blowing large holes in the port side. Commissioned in 1986, Tsezar Kunikov had a displacement of approximately 4,000 tonnes. She had survived damage during the March 2022 Berdiansk strike on sister ship Saratov. Her sinking marked the fifth major surface combatant lost by the Black Sea Fleet to Ukrainian sea drones.
