Description
Ropucha-class (Project 775) large landing ship damaged on 24 March 2024 by a Ukrainian R-360 Neptune anti-ship missile during a mass strike on Sevastopol port infrastructure. The attack also hit sister ships Azov and Konstantin Olshansky. Yamal, commissioned in 1988, had been one of the more active amphibious vessels in the Black Sea Fleet throughout the conflict. The extent of damage was not fully confirmed, but the strike further reduced the fleet's amphibious transport capacity, already severely degraded by the loss of four other landing ships.
