Description
Project 22160 patrol ship sunk on 5 March 2024 by Ukrainian MAGURA V5 uncrewed surface vessels near the Kerch Strait. Multiple drone hits to the stern, starboard, and port sides caused the 1,800-tonne vessel to sink. Sergey Kotov had been commissioned just 20 months earlier in July 2022 and was estimated at $65 million. One of six Project 22160 modular patrol ships, she was armed with a 57mm gun and Igla air defense missiles. Her loss further constrained the Black Sea Fleet's ability to conduct surface patrols near Crimea.
