Russia Project 498 Fleet Update

Project 498 tugboat Saturn sunk on 6 June 2024 by Ukrainian uncrewed surface vessels at Lake Panske on the western shores of Crimea. Ukrainian military intelligence released video showing the drone navigating through defensive boom barriers before striking the vessel. The tug was used to support naval operations along the Crimean coast. Saturn's destruction demonstrated the ability of Ukrainian USVs to penetrate physical port defenses, a capability that had been developing since the first sea drone attacks in late 2022.
