Description
Commissioned on 27 December 2024 at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk, with Captain 1st Rank Aleksandr Gladkov in command. Laid down on 19 March 2015 and launched on 29 November 2023, Arkhangelsk completed thirteen months of sea trials before acceptance. The fourth Project 885M Yasen-M class submarine measures 130 metres in length with a displacement of 13,800 tonnes. Armed with 3M-14 Kalibr cruise missiles, P-800 Oniks anti-ship missiles, and 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missiles, Arkhangelsk was assigned to the Northern Fleet at Zapadnaya Litsa on 27 January 2025.
