Description
Commissioned on 27 July 2025 alongside sister ship Heze in a dual commissioning ceremony for the North Sea Fleet. Zhumadian is a Type 052DM variant carrying pennant number 127, equipped with upgraded AESA radar and enhanced combat systems compared to earlier Type 052D units. The simultaneous commissioning of two destroyers underscored the PLAN's shipbuilding capacity. Named after the city of Zhumadian in Henan Province, the destroyer bolsters the North Sea Fleet's surface combatant force for operations in the Yellow Sea and beyond.
