Description
Commissioned on 13 January 2026 as an upgraded Type 054AG variant of the Jiangkai II class. Linfen carries pennant number 543 and features several improvements over standard Type 054A frigates, including a redesigned hangar to accommodate the larger Z-20 naval helicopter, an upgraded 100mm main gun, and enhanced sensor and electronic warfare suites. The Type 054AG represents a bridge between the proven Type 054A platform and the next-generation Type 054B, extending the production life of the versatile frigate design while incorporating modern subsystems.
