Description
Lead ship of the Shahid Soleimani-class catamaran corvettes, destroyed at Bandar Abbas during Operation Epic Fury. U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth confirmed the sinking on March 4, 2026. Commissioned on 5 September 2022, the 600-tonne catamaran featured a stealthy aluminum hull and was the first Iranian warship equipped with a vertical launching system. Armed with anti-ship cruise missiles, Abu-Mahdi surface-to-surface missiles, and Sayyad-2/3 surface-to-air missiles, it was considered the IRGC Navy's most capable surface combatant.
