Description
Bandar Abbas-class replenishment vessel interned by Sri Lanka on 5 March 2026, the first warship interned by a neutral country since World War II. IRINS Bushehr had been traveling alongside frigate IRIS Dena, returning from the Indian Navy's International Fleet Review and Exercise MILAN at Visakhapatnam. After Dena was torpedoed on 4 March, Bushehr requested emergency port entry at Colombo citing engine damage. Sri Lanka's President Anura Kumara Dissanayake ordered the 208 crew members brought ashore to Welisara Naval Base, with the 107-metre vessel relocated to Trincomalee for the duration of hostilities.
