Description
Israeli airstrikes destroyed two F-14A Tomcat fighters on the ground at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport. The IDF released infrared targeting camera footage showing the aircraft being struck by air-to-ground munitions as they sat outside hardened aircraft shelters. Both jets were assessed to be in non-flyable condition, part of Iran's dwindling fleet of Cold War-era Tomcats. Even non-operational, these airframes served as valuable sources of spare parts for Iran's maintenance-starved F-14 fleet based at Isfahan.
