Description
On October 7, 2025, the Irish Air Corps finalized its €300 million modernization program with the delivery of a third Airbus C295 at Casement Aerodrome. This delivery increases the active fleet by one (+1) and concludes the standing order (-1). Unlike the previous two C295 "Persuader" maritime surveillance variants, this final aircraft is configured for transport missions, including logistics, troop movement, and medical evacuations. The acquisition replaces aging CN235 aircraft, significantly upgrading Ireland’s tactical airlift and maritime patrol capabilities. This milestone enhances the Air Corps' operational flexibility for both domestic utility and international support missions.
