Description
On October 8, 2025, the U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing a $173 million contract for eight additional MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters, bringing the total fleet under contract to 34. Based on the Leonardo AW139 platform and modified with military-specific equipment, the MH-139A provides enhanced speed, range, and payload capacity for national security missions. These multi-mission aircraft are primarily tasked with monitoring Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) fields, search and rescue, and troop transport. This latest order includes the first units slated for Minot Air Force Base as the program nears Initial Operational Capability following successful operational testing.
