Sweden C-390 Fleet Update

Sweden has finalized an order for four Embraer C-390 Millennium multi-mission transport aircraft, marking a significant upgrade to its tactical airlift capabilities. The contract, part of a joint European procurement effort, includes options for seven additional units. The C-390 is a versatile platform capable of performing heavy-lift transport, medical evacuation, and air-to-air refueling. Its integration into the Swedish Air Force is supported by recent successful refueling certification flights with the Saab Gripen E, demonstrating high interoperability. This acquisition enhances Sweden’s logistical reach and reinforces regional defense cooperation through a standardized medium-sized transport solution.
