Description
On December 9, 2025, a Russian Antonov An-22 military transport aircraft crashed near the village of Ivankovo during a post-repair test flight. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that all crew members, reportedly seven individuals, perished in the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest a technical malfunction caused the crash, highlighting the age of the airframe, which had been in service for over 50 years. This accident occurs amid a period of heightened Russian military aviation activity, which has seen an increase in equipment-related incidents involving transport and logistics platforms during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
