India Rafale DH/EH Fleet Update

India's Defence Acquisition Council approved the purchase of 114 Dassault Rafale fighter jets in F4 configuration for the Indian Air Force, valued at approximately ₹3.25 lakh crore ($28 billion). The deal, India's largest single defense procurement, includes 18 aircraft delivered directly from Dassault's Mérignac plant and 96 assembled locally under the Make in India initiative. The decision was accelerated ahead of French President Emmanuel Macron's February visit to New Delhi. The new jets will supplement the 36 existing Rafale DH/EH fighters delivered between 2020-2022, and the existing fleet will also be upgraded from F3R to F4 standard.
