Description
A Kazakhstan Air Force Su-30SM crashed during a scheduled training flight in the Karaganda Region, approximately 10 km from Sary-Arka Airport near the city of Balkhash, on February 25. Both pilots ejected safely and were placed under medical observation with no life-threatening injuries. The crash area was cordoned off with no threat to nearby residents or infrastructure. A special commission was established to investigate the cause. Kazakhstan previously lost an Su-30SM in the same Karaganda Region in April 2021, when the crew also survived by ejecting.
