Description
On February 28, 2026, U.S. Central Command released video footage showing precision-guided munitions striking two Iranian Su-22 Fitter combat aircraft parked in open revetments at a military airfield. Both jets were destroyed on impact as part of the opening phase of Operation Epic Fury. The Su-22s belonged to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which operated a small fleet of approximately seven Sukhoi Su-22M4 aircraft. The strikes were part of a broader campaign targeting Iranian military airfields, air defense systems, and missile launchers across the country in coordination with Israeli Operation Roaring Lion.
