Description
A Northrop F-5E Tiger II was destroyed on the ground at Ahvaz International Airport in Khuzestan Province during US precision strikes as part of Operation Epic Fury. CENTCOM released footage on March 5 showing the aircraft being struck by a precision-guided munition while parked between two Fokker F27 transport aircraft. The F-5E was among the IRIAF's aging fleet of Northrop fighters, primarily assigned to the 6th Tactical Air Base at Ahvaz. This was the second confirmed F-5E loss of the conflict, following another destroyed at Tabriz on March 1.
