Description
Agualeguas National Airport is located two miles north-northwest of Agualeguas, Nuevo León, Mexico. President Carlos Salinas de Gortari inaugurated the facility in March 1990. On November 26, 1990, the airport hosted the arrival of the Mexican Air Force Boeing 757 "TP-01" and the United States' "Air Force One" for the signing of the free trade agreement between Mexico and the United States.
On December 1, 2020, the facility transitioned from civil aviation to a military installation. It currently operates as the 10th Air Force Station "Lieutenant Colonel Praxedis López Ramos" under the Mexican Air Force. Infrastructure at the site consists of a runway with turn ramps, two taxiways, and an aviation apron. Support facilities include hangars and a control tower.
