Description
Camilo Daza International Airport is located five kilometers from the center of Cúcuta in the Norte de Santander Department of Colombia. The facility was inaugurated on October 10, 1971, by President Misael Pastrana Borrero and Minister of Public Works Argerino Duran Quintero. It is named after Camilo Daza, an aviation pioneer and the founder of the Colombian Air Force.
The facility is operated by Aerocivil and manages international operations and general aviation. Infrastructure modernization in 2005 included the installation of night lighting systems to facilitate air traffic. Between 2018 and 2019, the airport underwent further expansion, which included the construction of a new facade, a terminal extension, and additional office space for Aerocivil. The parking area was expanded to a capacity of 300 vehicles, and the check-in and baggage claim areas were renovated. The updated infrastructure was inaugurated on April 26, 2019.
Current facilities include an international terminal equipped to handle general aviation and scheduled commercial flights. The airport also houses an Avianca lounge.
