Description
Chihhang Air Base, also designated as Taitung Air Force Base, is a military installation operated by the Republic of China Air Force in Taitung County, Taiwan. In 2018, the Republic of China Air Force issued a solicitation for an automated Close-In Weapon System to provide an additional layer of protection for the facility.
Infrastructure at the base includes the Shihzishan, or Stone Mountain, complex. Located at the north end of the airfield, this underground hangar and support facility consists of a tunnel system with the capacity to shelter eighty aircraft.
