Description
General Enrique Mosconi International Airport is located eight kilometers north of Comodoro Rivadavia in the Chubut Province of Argentina. Established in 1929, the facility was inaugurated on November 1, 1929, to support Aeroposta Argentina flights between Bahía Blanca and Comodoro Rivadavia. The installation is named after Enrique Carlos Alberto Mosconi, an Argentine military engineer. A terminal building was constructed on the site in 1952.
The facility occupies 810 hectares and includes a 4,000-square-meter terminal. Since the early 2000s, Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 has functioned as the operator. The airport serves as the primary hub for Líneas Aéreas del Estado (LADE). Operational history includes international service to Balmaceda and Santiago, Chile.
