Description
Francisco Sarabia International Airport is located in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, and serves the La Laguna Metropolitan Area. The facility is situated 6.5 kilometers east of the Torreón city center. The airport is named in honor of Francisco Sarabia, a pioneer of Mexican commercial aviation.
Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA) operates the airport, which handles national and international air traffic, general aviation, executive flights, and flight training. The airport hosts the Mexican Air Force’s Air Force Station No. 3 (Estación Aérea Militar N.º 3). This station serves as a base for military personnel, although there are currently no active squadrons assigned to the unit.
The infrastructure includes a passenger terminal equipped with a departure concourse and two gates. The terminal underwent renovations in 2003 and 2023. The civil apron contains seven stands configured for narrow-body aircraft. Military infrastructure at Air Force Station No. 3 consists of a 5,400-square-meter aviation platform and one hangar.
