Description
Hwangsuwon Airport is a military airfield located near Hwangsuwol-li in Kimhyonggwon-gun, Ryanggang-do, North Korea. The facility is situated within a valley in the north-central region of the country.
The base hosts a fighter regiment operating MiG-21 jets. Infrastructure at the installation consists of a parallel taxiway running the length of the runway, with aprons located at both ends. A separate taxiway extends approximately 2.8 kilometers to the south-southwest, connecting the main airfield to a series of dispersed aircraft aprons.
