Description
Jiyanklis Air Base is located south of Kafr El Dawwar in the Beheira Governorate, Egypt. The facility is owned by the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and operated by the Egyptian Air Force. Historically designated as RAF Gianaclis, the base hosted Royal Air Force units including No. 38, No. 39, No. 47, No. 148, No. 221, No. 252, No. 255, No. 272, No. 459 RAAF, and No. 512 Squadrons.
The base hosts the 272 Tactical Fighter Wing of the 139 Air Division. Stationed units include the 75, 77, and 79 Squadrons, which operate General Dynamics F-16C/D-40 Fighting Falcon aircraft.
