Description
Kasuminome Air Field is a Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) aerodrome located 5.0 kilometers southeast of Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture. The Imperial Japanese Army established the site in 1937 as Sendai Air Field, where it functioned as an air crew training facility. During the post-war Occupation of Japan, Allied forces designated the installation Lanier Airfield. The facility currently operates as part of Camp Kasuminome and is under the management of the JGSDF.
