Description
Lađevci Air Base is a joint civilian-military airport located near Kraljevo in central Serbia. The military section, operated by the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence, is home to the 98th Air Brigade. The civilian terminal, opened in 2019 under the name Morava Airport, is operated by Airports of Serbia.
The airbase was constructed in 1967 and initially hosted the 235th Fighter-Bomber Squadron of the Yugoslav Air Force. In 1992, following the breakup of Yugoslavia, the 241st Fighter-Bomber Squadron equipped with J-22 Orao aircraft was transferred from Skopski Petrovec Airbase in North Macedonia. The base was damaged during the 1999 NATO bombing campaign.
Today, the 98th Air Brigade operates J-22 Orao attack aircraft, SA 342 Gazelle helicopters, and IJ-22 reconnaissance variants from the facility.
