Description

Las Palmas Air Base is located in the Santiago de Surco District of Lima, Peru. The installation is administered by the Peruvian Air Force (FAP). A replica of the Japanese ambassador's residence was constructed on the base in 1997 for use during the Japanese embassy hostage crisis.

The Peruvian Air Force operates the base as a branch of the Peruvian Armed Forces. The United States Air Force began operations at the facility on June 1, 2023. The National Aerophotographic Service is stationed on the premises. Navigational reference for the base is provided by the Lima VOR-DME, situated 11.7 nautical miles northwest of the facility.
