Description
Taizhou Luqiao Airport, formerly Huangyan Luqiao Airport, is a dual-use military and civil airport located in Luqiao District, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It was originally constructed as a military airfield for the People's Liberation Army Navy, with construction beginning in January 1954 and opening in July 1955. In 1987, the airfield was converted to a dual-use military and civil airport. It was initially named Huangyan Luqiao Airport and was renamed Taizhou Luqiao Airport in December 2008. It features one concrete runway, 2,500 meters long and 60 meters wide, and a 7,850 square-meter terminal building. A new dedicated civil airport is being planned to replace Taizhou Luqiao Airport to accommodate growing traffic volume.
