Description
Mar del Plata Air Base, also known as Astor Piazzolla International Airport, is located in the Atlantic coastal city of Mar del Plata in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. The facility was named for Brigadier General Bartolomé de la Colina, a founder of the Argentine Air Force, and was renamed in August 2008.
The site occupies an area of 436 hectares. Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 has operated the facility since October 1998. Infrastructure includes a terminal building constructed in 1978 and expanded in 1994.
